Salisbury Trust is pleased to announce its 2014 Sportsmanship Award Program. The Bank created this program in 2011 to honor the spirit of Eventing. Eventing is an equestrian event comprised of dressage, cross-country and show jumping. Its roots are in a comprehensive cavalry test requiring mastery of several types of riding. Eventing has now evolved into an exciting sport attracting interest from all levels of riding sports enthusiasts, from weekend hobby riders to professional international stars.
Meredith Tiedemann, Vice President and Trust Officer explains, “Now in its fourth year, the Bank continues to offer this sponsorship as we are enriched by being involved with the Eventing community. The spirit of Eventing exhibits perseverance, integrity, horsemanship, sportsmanship and humor. This sponsorship celebrates that spirit.”
Salisbury Trust will sponsor and pay the entry fees for four riders in four USEA Area 1 events in the Northwest Corner.
How does the sponsorship program work?
A committee at Salisbury Trust will select 4 horse and rider pairs from all of the applications and will pay for their entries at each of the following:
Interested horse and rider pairs are invited to submit their applications along with the name of one character reference to Salisbury Trust Wealth Advisory Services by May 1, 2014.
- Riga Meadow Horse Trials, July 13, 2014
- Town Hill Horse Trials, August 30 and August 31, 2014
- Kent School Horse Trials, October 5, 2014
The horse and rider pair with the lowest average score at the three trials will be awarded the “Salisbury Trust Sportsmanship Award.”
All skill levels will be considered: Beginner Novice, Novice or Training. Participants must compete on the same horse at the same level at each event.
Completed applications must be received by the Award committee by 5:00 p.m. on May 1, 2014. For application packets and detailed information about the Sportsmanship Award Program, visit the Bank’s website at www.salisburybank.com/sportsmanshipaward.
