Salisbury Bank Celebrates One Year Anniversary of Great Barrington, MA Branch - Makes Donation to two Community Organizations
July 10, 2015
This May, Salisbury Bank celebrated the one year anniversary of the opening of their Great Barrington branch office.
“The Great Barrington community has been very welcoming to Salisbury Bank. We have enjoyed our first year meeting so many great people, getting involved with community organizations, offering free seminars to consumers and businesses, and participating in community events like SummerFest, Sounds of Summer, Holiday Stroll and so on. We are looking forward to many more years of business in the Great Barrington area,” said Georgann Farnum, Great Barrington Branch Manager.
To show their appreciation, Salisbury Bank is giving back to the community by donating to The Southern Berkshire Elderly Transportation Corporation and Greenagers, two community non-profit organizations.
The Southern Berkshire Elderly Transportation Corporation is a non-profit consortium to help elderly and disabled persons of any age with transportation for their personal needs. They serve the towns of the Southern Berkshires which include Great Barrington (including Housatonic), Egremont (North and South), Alford, Sandisfield, Otis, Monterey and New Marlborough.
Greenagers engages teens and young adults in meaningful work in environmental conservation, sustainable farming and natural resource management. In the Berkshires and nearby New York State, their trail crews maintain existing trails and build new trails for the Appalachian Trail Conservancy, Trustees of Reservations, Columbia Land Conservancy and other conservation organizations.
“We value our relationships in every community we serve and are happy we’ve developed strong relationships with our neighbors. Making donations to other fellow organizations is our way of giving back to the community and is something we will continue to do,” said Betsy Summerville, Executive Vice President and Chief Retail Officer.
Salisbury Bank is a full-service community bank headquartered in Lakeville, Connecticut and presently operates full service branches in Canaan, Lakeville, Salisbury and Sharon, Connecticut; Great Barrington, Sheffield and South Egremont, Massachusetts; as well as Dover Plains, Fishkill, Millerton, Newburgh, Poughkeepsie, and Red Oaks Mill, New York.
