The event was a celebration of the Bank’s expansion into their newest branch location at 275 Main Street in New Paltz. Salisbury Bank acquired the former Empire State Bank branch on June 2, 2017.
The night’s Ribbon Tying Event had special meaning to those in attendance, with community speakers that included Michael Hein, Ulster County Executive; Neil Bettez, New Paltz Town Supervisor; and Kathy Prizzia, President of the New Paltz Regional Chamber of Commerce.
Each year, a theme is selected to represent the core values of the Bank and its divisions. This year’s theme at Salisbury Bank is Together, Better Banking. “We are proud to say that the Riverside Division of Salisbury Bank and Trust Company is now represented with a physical location in the New Paltz Community. This branch will enable us to reach new customers and better serve our existing customers in that market”, stated Rick Cantele, President and CEO of Salisbury Bank and Trust Company.
John Sorlie, long time Branch Manager at the New Paltz location was recognized for his community involvement and for his dedication to Salisbury Bank during the transition. Sorlie and his staff will continue to support the banking needs of their customers at the New Paltz Branch.
Opening a branch in New Paltz was an obvious choice for the Bank. With branch offices in Poughkeepsie, Red Oaks Mills, Fishkill, and Newburgh, Southern Ulster County has been a territory that the Riverside Division’s loan officers have been serving for years.
John Davies, Regional President and Chief Lending Officer at Salisbury Bank, explained that with a physical branch in New Paltz and the combined staff led by seasoned professionals that include Todd Rubino, Senior Vice President and Senior Commercial Loan Officer, a 20-plus-year veteran at the Riverside Division, the community at large can expect an unmatched level of banking expertise and convenience.
Betsy Summerville, Executive Vice President and Chief Retail Officer at Salisbury Bank included in her opening remarks that “We are a community minded bank that gives back”. The Bank's employees volunteer over six thousand hours of their time each year in the communities that they serve.
The ribbon tying event was the Bank’s unique way of expressing to their customers, the New Paltz community, the New Paltz Chamber members, and the Bank’s trusted employees that they are all connected to the success of the communities they serve.
